Optio W30 Highlights
Enhanced waterproof function With an enhanced design, the Optio W30 waterproof performance capacity has more than doubled and now allows photographers to capture images underwater up to 10 feet for 2 hours. Improved construction of the camera incorporates metal front and back covers for added durability. Protective glass on the lens is treated with a Super Protect (SP) coating, developed exclusively by Pentax for superior water repellency. In addition to a JIS Class 8 waterproof standard, the Optio W30 features JIS Class 5 dustproof standard that protects the camera even more in outdoor settings.
3x optical zoom lens and 7.1 megapixels deliver outstanding pictures The Optio W30 includes a 3x optical zoom lens that covers focal lengths from 6.3 to 18.9 mm (equivalent to 38 to 114 mm for 35mm film) and features a refraction lens system so the lens never protrudes from the camera while zooming. Bright, new LCD monitor is easy-to-view The Optio W30 is equipped with a high-intensity 2.5-inch LCD monitor with an LCD Bright mode that adjusts the brightness of the screen, making it easy-to-view even outdoors in strong sunlight. An Anti-Reflection (AR) coating on the monitor helps make the screen even more visible outdoors.
Face Recognition AF and AE mode The Optio W30 is equipped with a "Face Recognition AF and AE" function* that automatically detects and focuses on faces, regardless of where the people appear in the photo frame. In addition, optimal exposure settings are automatically conducted so that the areas with faces are not darkened even if there is backlighting.*Available when the shooting mode is "Portrait" and the camera is directed at people from the front.
Digital Shake Reduction (SR) The Digital SR mode helps reduce camera shake and subject blur in still photography by adjusting sensitivity automatically to as high as the sensitivity of ISO 3200, to match the brightness of the subject. This enables photography with fast shutter speeds.
High-quality movies with Shake Reduction function The Optio W30 captures smooth, high-quality movies at 30 fps (frames per second) at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, which is comparable to movies taken with a camcorder. The Optio W30 also features Movie SR mode*, which automatically corrects camera shake, and an Interval Shooting mode that records images during each specified time interval as a movie for more creative options.*Using the "Movie SR" function results in a narrower field of view than that during normal video recording.
Macro photography The Optio W30 can focus on objects at just under half an inch away for stunning close-up photography of subjects such as flowers, insects, or jewelry.
Auto Picture mode automatically determines best settings for shooting conditions The Auto Picture mode helps the Optio W30 automatically determine the best shooting conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, and Program modes and choose the optimum settings for each subject. Pentax *ist D Camera.Training and preview.

Pentax announced the *ist D digital SLR on 26th February 2003, the week before PMA 2003. The *ist D is essentially a digital version of the *ist film SLR announced the week before. The major physical difference between the two cameras (apart from all the digital controls on the rear of the *ist D) is that the *ist D appears to have a heavier metal subframe. Although expected to be on the shelves by July 2003 the camera has been delayed (twice) due to 'procurement of materials required' (Sony's sensor?). The *ist D is the first digital SLR Pentax has brought to market, they did announce and show a pre-production digital SLR a couple of years ago but that project was cancelled in favour of the *ist D we see today.
The *ist D is currently the smallest and lightest digital SLR, it measures just 129 x 95 x 60 mm (5.0 x 3.7 x 2.3 in) and weighs 650 g (1.4 lb) including batteries (no lens). The *ist D has a the same six megapixel (Sony ICX413AQ) sensor used in the Nikon D100, it has a Pentax K lens mount and supports K, KA, KAF and KAF2 lenses. It is also possible to use screw mount lenses, 645 and 67 series lenses with an adapter.
Lenses Used
We had a limited range of lenses available to us at the time of review, the three lenses shown below were used for all samples and image quality tests, above each test you will see an indication of the lens used ( the 50 mm F1.4 was used for comparison and resolution tests due to its resolution, neutrality and consistency).

Potatura e Pinzatura
La potatura di formazione, con tagli anche di rami importanti, si esegue esclusivamente prima della ripresa vegetativa, evitando di tagliare i rametti corti e spinosi. Il segreto per ottenere i frutti da un bonsai di Melograno è di compiere la pinzatura subito dopo la prima fioritura. Anche se è possibile tentare di impollinarlo artificialmente, si riesce ad ottenere il frutto naturalmente, pinzando nel momento giusto e ponendo l’esemplare in pieno sole, all’aria aperta.Dato che il Melograno fiorisce sempre sulla cima dei rami, l’obiettivo è ottenere rami corti. Bisogna impostare la pinzatura in modo tale che, dopo la seconda vegetazione (fine giugno inizio luglio al sud, agosto/settembre a nord), fiorisca dai nuovi germogli. Anche se ogni albero è differente, quando la vegetazione arriva ai 15-20 cm di lunghezza, (fine giugno) si pota il bonsai di Melograno lasciando due nodi. Si può anche pinzare l’albero normalmente ogni volta che un ramo ha sette od otto paia di foglie lasciandone due paia, (anche se le due inferiori non sono realmente foglie) alla fine di giugno.

The skinned mode perks things up slightly, but the program seems to suffer from unpredictable behavior when skinned. Also, the basic task of opening a file is far more confusing than it should be; the program gives you several options, including the head-scratching Quick Open File. Overall, though, VLC Media Player is a must-have application for its ability to open just about any type of video file you throw at it.

It's easy for Windows users to forget that WinZip isn't the only file-compression utility in the world. Like its better-known competitors, the free 7-Zip unpacks a host of archive formats, including ZIP, TAR, GZ, and its own 7z format.
